Dear David,
Judy Jones sajones@bigpond.net.au .
Your website looks great and it is a thrill to see the pictures of the goblet, John and Sarah.
I only picked up 2 small errors. Thomas George Wilsher Jr immigrated to Australia in 1884. Mary Brock Billows immigrated in 1885 with her brother, Frederick to marry Thomas.
The family story is that Thomas immigrated to escape being made to go to Italy for singing lessons. He had a marvellous voice and sang in the choir at St Alban's Cathedral. He was only 20 years old when he arrived in Melbourne. Mary Brock Billows, his sweetheart, followed a few months later. She was 12 years older than him. Her father, a gas engineer died in 1857 in Calcutta, India from cholera where he was installing gas lighting for the city.
Thomas George Wilsher Jr sang at my parents' wedding in 1949. He died in 1953, a year before I was born. His wife, Mary (known as Polly) died in 1945.
The owner of the goblet is not my mother, but my aunt, Grace Thiele.
