ABSTRACT OF THE WILL OF JOHN THRALLE OF LONDON, vintner [St. MARY MAGDALENS, OLD FISH STREET HILL, LONDON.]

…… my bodye to be buried in the churche of Marie Magdalens in olde Fishestrete.
I bequeathe my now dwellinge house called the Bores head in olde fishestrete unto Margarett Thrall my wife withe the furniture that belongethe unto the same house as bedstedes beddinge waynscott paynted clothes tables frames and bourdes as it is now longe as the foresaide Margaret shall live. And after her decease I bequeathe the saide house called the bores head in old Fishestreete to John Thrall my sonne withe all the saide furnitures etc. [as above] now in the foresaide house to the said John Thrall and his heirs of his bodye. And if it happen the said John to dye without issue I bequeathe the same to Margarett Thrall my daughter and her heirs of her bodye and the foresaide implementes And if the saide Margarett my daughter shall dye without issue then to Thomas Thralle son of Richard Thrale of Thrales end in the parishe of Luton payinge out of the same house one hundred poundes lackinge tenne poundes to the rest of my Richardes children and to the children of my brother Thomas Thrall viz to suche of them as shall be then lyvinge equally betwene them and he so to have it to him and his heirs but first her or they to paye the saide hundred poundes lackinge tenne poundes as above and tenne poundes more to make it a hundred poundes to the churche wardens of Luton to the use of the poore of the towne there.
I bequeathe to Margaret Thrall my wife the rent and Lease of seaven cottages or tenementes in Longe Lane as longe as she livithe and then to John Thrall my sonne and his heires of his bodye and for lack of suche issue to Margarett Thrall my daughter and her heirs of her bodye for ever. And for lack of issue of them bothe to Thomas sonne of Thomas Thrall of Luton and his heirs so longe as the Lease lastethe.
I give my Lease in Stockwell holden of my Lord Mountague called Brownes to Margarett Thrall my wife as longe as the Lease lastethe. I will to Margarett Thrall my wife the rent of the free land purchased withe John Pinder of my Lord Mountague till John Thrall my sonne comethe to thage of fower and twentie yeares and then to the saide John Thrall and his heirs of his bodye and for lack of suche heirs to Margarett Thrall my daughter and her heirs for ever.
I bequeathe to John Thrale my sonne at thage of fower and twentie yeares in plate one hundred ownces. Also I bequeathe to John Thrall my sonne at thage of fower and twentie yeares in readye money twoe hundred poundes. I will to Margarett Thralle my dawghter in plate one hundred ownces and in readye money twoe hundred poundes at the time of her marriage.
I will to Margarett my dawghter at the time of her marriage one standinge bedsted and a good featherbed withe a coverlet and blanckettes and sheetes at the discreation of my wife.
I doe make executrix my wife Margaret Thralle and give her the rest of my goodes.

A Codicil to be annexed to the last will and testament of John Thrale late citizen and vintner of London deceased.
He will to Thomas Thrale his then servant twentie poundes when he settethe upp and go to occupie for him selfeItem he gaveto his godchildren John Lodge John Thorpe Myllisent Smithe John Sayes John Davies sonne his godchilde to every of them five shillinges a peece.
