Arthur Murphy (1727-1805) was a barrister, journalist, actor, biographer, translator and playwright. One of the most popular comic dramatists of the second half of the eighteenth century, from which he made his fortune. He occasionally used the pseudonym, 'Charles Ranger'. | |||
