William THRALE's musical box Old musical box in mahogany and buhl inlaid case owned by William Thrale. Lot no.186 in the 1897 sale of William Thrale's house, the Maltings, Wheathampstead. Tunes include 'Love Was Once a Little Boy', Wake of Erin', 'Garyone', and 'Croppies Lie Down'. bought for 10/- for young May Thrale, who upon her death in 1970 at the age of 87 willed it to her grand-nephew Richard Thrale of St. Albans. |
